DIY spa night at home

Nothing relaxes me more than a day at the spa. Tranquility, silence, and a warm cup of tea while bundling myself up in a plush robe…total bliss! But let’s be real, the price tag on a day at the spa can be a hefty one. Instead, I do weekly spa nights at home to get my fix when I can’t make it into the real thing.

My favorite thing to incorporate into my spa nights is a good face mask. I do these weekly and I’ve seen a huge improvement in my skin. I change up which face mask I use depending on what I feel like my skin needs. Lately, I’ve been dealing with a case of clogged pores and dull looking skin. I could really use a bit of brightening to match up with all this sunshine we’ve been blessed with lately!

I recently got this Dead Sea Mud Mask from Maple Holistics and I loved the results! Clay mud masks have been known for their many skin benefits- from exfoliation to calming acne to improving circulation. This mask has a thick, muddy consistency with a smooth texture (a little goes a long way). Immediately following application, I felt it start to tighten on my skin, which is one of my favorite feelings because I really feel like it’s sucking all the toxins out! Maybe it has something to do with our human instinct to rub mud all over ourselves. I don’t know. Either way, it feels amazing!

I let it sit for about 15 minutes and then rinsed well with warm water. It definitely takes a few washes to get this bad boy off your skin and it makes your sink look like a pig pen, but it’s totally worth it! You feel pretty glamorous afterwards, I promise. My skin felt baby soft and immediately had more of a glow than it did before application. Definitely will be making this a staple in my mask routine!

To go along with my face masks, I like to light a candle, play a spa music playlist from Spotify, and really try to relax and let go of whatever stress I may be feeling. Depending on how much time I have, I usually sit in the bath while my face mask sets and sip on a chilled glass of rosé. I love doing this on Sunday nights to clear my mind in preparation for the week ahead.
