As many of you know from last week’s post, I took a road trip to Utah to visit my older sister who just had a baby. I love being an auntie! This was the first time I’ve been back to Utah in about 8 years! Holy cow, time really does fly! I fell in love with the place– the constant panoramic view of the mountains, the cute new housing communities being built, and of course my little nephews filling my heart until I thought it would explode! I’m missing it already…
I wanted to share with all of you what I did around Salt Lake City area, some cool things I got to check out, and some of the outfits I wore while I was there. And just a warning– there will be cute baby pictures so prepare yourselves! I know I’m biased, but he is seriously the cutest baby on this planet.
Day 1: Met Baby Hudson
The first day I arrived in Utah, baby Hudson had been born that morning. I went straight to the hospital and got to hold him in my arms. I immediately fell in love! This was definitely the best part of my whole trip. I couldn’t get enough of those cheeks and that precious little face. Let’s just say, there were lots of tears involved when I had to leave.
Day 2: Top Golf
My boyfriend and I have been dying to go to Top Golf since there isn’t one in Los Angeles. We were so excited when we found out there was one near my sister’s house. I had to share this experience with you guys because it was so stinking fun!! We had lots of laughs with my little brother, making fools of ourselves and actually I came in a very close second place. 😉
Day 3: Park City
My little brother, his girlfriend, my boyfriend, and I drove about 40 minutes up to Park City. Growing up, my family and I went to Park City to snowboard every year around Christmas time. This was the first time I have been since and it fell so good to be back! We wandered Main St. and got lunch together there, then walked up to the resort to see the amazing view of those mountains! Makes my jaw drop every.single.time.
Those mountains…I mean, c’mon! Didn’t even know what to do with myself seeing grass that green, considering California has been in a never ending drought.

Day 4: Parade of Homes
Okay I know I
might be am a little weird, but I love walking through open houses and model homes. When my parents said they wanted to buy tickets for the Parade of Homes, I couldn’t help but invite myself to join them! I am so happy I did. The houses were so adorable and coming from California, it was amazing to see how much more house you can get for your money there. And to top it all off, it was like farmhouse galore! So much shiplap, barn doors, and Magnolia furniture! Any Fixer Upper fans out there?! You understand my excitement. (Btw- stay tuned for a post in the works on my farmhouse apartment on a budget 😉 ) Shoutout to the staging companies who nailed it on the decorating jobs on these beauties.
Um, yes that is a YOGA ROOM!!! (Insert dancing emoji here.) Thank you to the genius who thought of this….I will never think of a bonus room the same unless there’s yoga mats and zen vibes in there.
Gimme these barn doors RIGHT NOW. Thank you very much.
Everyday, all day: Playtime with nephews
My sister’s 5 year old son, Calvin, makes me smile so much my cheeks hurt. We had a great time “playing” Snapchat together. You don’t know how funny those filters are until you try them out with a child. You might just pee your pants laughing- just saying. You’re welcome for your daily dose of laughter that’s about to occur.
What do you get when you face swap with a 5 year old boy?
